Mr Kuang Hu, MA MB BChir PhD FRCOphth, is a London Consultant Ophthalmologist who specializes in Cataracts and Glaucoma, including laser and surgical treatments. He also manages all aspects of General Ophthalmology.
Mr Hu completed his medical degree and PhD in molecular neurobiology at the University of Cambridge. While at Cambridge, he won scholarships at Clare College and was awarded the Max Perutz Student Prize for his research at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. He trained in Ophthalmology on the London Registrar rotation before undertaking clinical Fellowships in Glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon since 2014.
He is an Honorary Associate Professor at UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. His research interests include evidence-based medicine and patient-reported outcome measures. A member of the Cochrane Consortium on minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery, he has recently co-authored several systematic reviews in this field. His published academic work includes book chapters on glaucoma surgery as well as peer-reviewed papers in Nature and British Medical Journal.
He is an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He is the founding Director of Infinity Eye Clinic.
